Laughing your heart out

Introduction

Our emotional well-being is as important as the physical. We can influence how we feel and, promoting positive emotions, handle distress and burnout at least on the preventive level. We can decide to do something that makes us smile and laugh.

Laughter can help us feel better.

Instructions

  • While sitting or standing, put the palms on your legs, warm them up a little, and then gradually raise your hands up as you make the sound “A-A-A” (approx. 10 sec)
  • When the hands have reached the highest point, start calling out the sounds “ha-ha-ha-ha-ha” and try imitating (laughing) it with your voice in such a way that it would come from your heart. If the laughter does not come, just continue saying loudly and intensely “ha-ha-ha-ha-ha” – repeat the exercise 10 times.

Then repeat the same with the sounds “O”, “I” and “E”, 10 times with each sound.
