About the program

We are pleased to invite you to familiarize yourselves with our program of psychological exercises. As educators, we understand the importance of promoting positive mental health and well-being of teachers. That is why the experts from University of Latvia have developed a series of exercises designed to help the teacher maintain and strengthen his/ her resilience in complex and stressful daily work. The program has been tested in five educational institutions and improved based on feedback from participating teachers and trainers.

The program consists of 16 evidence-based exercises arranged in five thematic blocks. They can help the teacher by:

  1. mindfulness practices, consciously guiding the attention to the breath and the sensations of body,
  2. relaxation and self-management of stress,
  3. positive psychology interventions as doing gratitude or savoring,
  4. doing laughter yoga exercises,
  5. following 7 steps of resilience thinking exercises.

Depending on the situation, you can do the exercises individually, in pairs or in small groups together with your colleagues, in the premises of an educational institution, at home or in any other place convenient for you, before or after work, during a break or on a holiday, all in a row, or one from each block. It is determined by the teacher’s needs at the moment - either to relax in peace and quiet, guided by the voice of an expert, to create positive emotions or on the contrary - to tense up by exciting the voice and muscles, or to solve a problem going through the 7 steps of resilience thinking skills.

We recommend that you start by choosing a topic that is important to you at the moment, then watch the video and if the video material does not explain the exercise enough, you are welcome to read the description of the exercise. Your choice is to review all the exercises at once and then choose the one suitable for the situation, or try the exercises one by one.

Sincerely,

Project team
